Pioneering
Innovating advanced holographic products for industry and commercial applications
Rayvel leads the world in photonic research, patented innovations, and applied holography, transforming both commercial and industrial applications.
Innovation Across Industries
Rayvel conducts advanced photonic research and development for internal projects as well as external contracts. Our services range from drafting feasibility studies to delivering fully operational, customized holographic products and systems.
We continually explore new applications in holography, combining patented technology with practical, real-world implementation.
Narrow Angle Hologram
(Patent #7,259,899 | #8,218,213)
One of Rayvel’s first innovations, the Narrow Angle Hologram, achieves extremely bright visibility at a precise illumination angle — about 10 degrees — unlike standard holograms requiring ~45 degrees.
Originally developed for the Holocator, this hologram allows vehicle headlights or light sources to illuminate specific numbers or markers for maximum visibility.
Key Benefits:
- Passive device requiring no power
- Invisible when the light source is absent
- Acts as a critical angular alignment tool (e.g., for docking ships or vehicles)
- Narrow-angle illumination ensures high brightness and resonance-specific color
- Fully patent-protected with precise optical design

Automated Optical Test Station
Rayvel developed the OTS 2000 in response to the need for automated testing of large optical flats. The system fully characterizes physical and optical properties, including flatness, wavefront analysis, and reflection/diffraction efficiency, and maps defects as small as 1 micron.
This innovation earned the Gold Innovation Prize at the CT Quality Improvement Awards (CQIA), joining other winners such as Pfizer Global R&D and Pratt & Whitney.
Rayvel applies holographic techniques to:
- Flat screens for TVs and computers
- Solar panels
- Holographic optical elements
Wide Angle Hologram
(Patent #8,908,249)
The Wide Angle Hologram allows a light source to be nearly parallel and close to the hologram, enabling flatter image display systems for signage, point-of-purchase, and trade show applications.
This technology preserves the distinct characteristics of true holograms:
- Parallax: different viewing angles reveal different sides of the image
- Redundancy: each portion of the hologram contains the full image
