Industrial Scientific Holography

Advanced holographic technologies for research, industry, and government applications

Holography for Precision Applications

At the core of Rayvel’s vision is the role of holography in industrial, scientific, and government applications. Rayvel develops advanced holographic technologies designed to support precision measurement, secure authentication, and high-performance optical systems across a wide range of disciplines.

Our products and solutions are engineered to meet demanding technical requirements in research, manufacturing, infrastructure, and public-sector environments.

Government Authentication & Security

The authenticity of government-issued identification, documents, license plates, and official markers can be ensured through the application of holographic laminates and seals. These security elements are extremely difficult to replicate and can include hidden features when maximum protection is required.

Holographic technologies can also encode information directly into documents, enabling secure access to data such as medical or identification records.

Automated Optical Test Stations

Rayvel’s OTS 2000 Automated Optical Test Station fully characterizes the performance of large optical flats — including TV, monitor, tablet, and mobile device displays — through a fully automated testing process.

The OTS 2000 can be tailored to meet the exacting requirements of advanced applications, including photonic crystal generation.

Holographic Diffraction Gratings

Diffraction gratings separate light into its spectral components, similar to a prism, but with significantly higher efficiency. These components enable a wide range of scientific and industrial applications, including telecommunications, spectroscopy, astronomy, and microscopy.

Rayvel specializes in the development of custom holographic diffraction gratings, engineered to meet the specific performance requirements of each application.

You will see more details of some gratings arrays below.

Optical Networking & Communications

Modern optical communications systems transmit audio, video, text, and data through information encoded on light signals. Technologies such as Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) allow multiple data channels to travel through a single optical fiber.

Diffraction gratings play a critical role in these systems by enabling precise filtering and switching functions. Components utilizing diffraction gratings include:

Analytical Spectroscopy

Photonics enables non-destructive testing of liquids and gases through spectral analysis. In these systems, laser light passes through the test medium and reflects off a diffraction grating. A detector captures the reflected signal and generates a unique spectral “fingerprint.”

This fingerprint allows identification of the chemical composition of the tested material. Such systems are commonly used by:

Microscopy & Nanotechnology

The rapid advancement of nanotechnology has increased the demand for detecting and analyzing structures at the atomic and molecular level. Diffraction gratings can serve as alternatives to traditional optical components, offering greater precision and enhanced measurement capabilities in advanced microscopy applications.

Astronomical Observation & Research

When used with telescopes and spectrographs, diffraction gratings enable detailed analysis of celestial bodies. By measuring light intensity across wavelengths, scientists can determine a star’s composition, motion, temperature, magnetic fields, and even detect atmospheric characteristics of distant planets or the velocity of supernova events.
